How to find fellow carpoolers

So you want to take part in Carpool Day but don’t yet have anyone to carpool with? Here are some tips on finding your fellow carpoolers:

At work:

• Send an email to your workmates – tell them about Carpool Day, which suburb you are driving from, what time you start and finish work and ask who wants to join you! Sample email available
• Put a notice up in your tearoom – provide the same information as for the email and remember to include your contact details!
• Many businesses have an internal electronic notice board – use this to find your fellow carpoolers.
• Chat to your workmates about Carpool Day – you may find they live very close to you!

At home:

• Find out if your neighbours work near you or on the way to your work. They may be keen to do Carpool Day with you.

On the web:

• There are websites, like Jayride, available on the internet that can link you with other carpoolers. In the Wellington region, you can also use the Let's Carpool site, from the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
