Carpool Day 2009 was a “crazy idea” about getting New Zealanders to carpool to work, school or wherever they are going. It happened on Wednesday 5 August 2009.
Carpool Day 2009 was about having a go for one day – sharing your car, making a difference to the traffic jams, doing something positive for the environment, reducing the impact on your pocket (!), and having fun with some friends.
Lots of people joined in the fun on Carpool Day - when we've had a chance to go through all the feedback, we'll update this website to share it with everyone.
Wednesday, 5th August (Carpool Day): The Breeze presenter Robbie Rakete carpooled into work with a group from Pukekohe, followed by an (eventual) interview with Sarah. Have a listen to the mayhem! National Radio 101.4 FM sent a journalist to join Sarah, Ian and Alan in their carpool. Listen to Guanny reporting live from the car!
Monday, 3rd August: Sarah was interviewed on TV3's morning show 'Sunrise' - check out the video! She was also interviewed by Alf Rose from Easy Mix 98.2 today - listen to the interview!
